Your session includes …
– Tuition to help you get the best out of your camera, ‘Villager Jim Style’
– Advice on composition
– A trip out to visit and photograph some of Villager Jim’s favourite places and characters (you will recognise so many hopefully!)

There will be at most three people on each trip, making your experience quiet and personal.

No overcrowding, no being overlooked and no scaring away the wildlife!

We won’t promise you that we will see any wildlife – we never really know what we will see ourselves when we go out with our own cameras! – but we will put you in the best possible position to do so.

Tuesday 28th September. What a fantastic photography day spent with Phil Sproson in the Peak District. Only myself and one other on the course so we got plenty of one to one tuition from Phil. Gave very good advice about what to look for in a landscape. What to include and what to leave out, what filters to use and when. He also showed me a couple of functions on my Canon camera even though he is not a Canon user.On top of all that the weather was great. Could not ask for more, thanks Phil for a great day.

I had a wonderful day out in the Peak District with Phil Sproson learning tips and techniques for landscape and wildlife photography. I was particularly taken with the highland cows and was amazed at Phil’s knowledge and insight into a truly beautiful area of our country. There was only 2 of us on the day so we had plenty of individual time and coaching from Phil. We were fortunate with the weather and I definitely gained some valuable experience which will only help me improve my photography skills. thank you Phil for a great day, I would highly recommend to anyone.

A mid-week day in mid October, we were blessed with the most idyllic weather and photography conditions. A day that began at 10am and in a totally unrushed way came to a close at 5pm and I didn’t know where the time had gone! The guidance from Phil of both camera and the environment we were in was so rich and full… the day had a feel about it akin to being on a meditative retreat within which photography was the theme. Thank you Phil for facilitating such a special and memorable day – and then the follow-up email that included a description of the places we had visited and the various learning points that arose, invaluable reference. Could not have wished or hoped for more!

I spent a wonderful sunny day in May 2017 with Phil Sproson and two other students. The only things missing were some cloud (clear skies! When does that happen!!) and a herd of Highland cattle! But that did not detract in the slightest from the long relaxed day spent learning new photography techniques and polishing old ones in some of the most idyllic locations in the Peak District. Phil’s teaching manner was calm, relaxed and so informative. And with just three of us on the course, we each had plenty of one-to-one time with him. A thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyable day and well worth the journey from ‘down south’! Would highly recommend.

I joined Phil and two others on a day in the Peaks. Great instruction and guidance with no pressure to move on from one beautiful place to the next. I even managed to get some great shots of a Highland cow and her calf even though I was slightly worried! I’m hoping to go back and enjoy another great day out soon. Thank you.
